Mobile communication system on Ukraine has started to crumble, operators need to prepare for times when there will be no electricity at all. This was stated by People's Deputy from the Servant of the People party and head of the subcommittee on Cybersecurity and government communications of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Fediyenko.
"Mobile operators were the first to fall, as predicted. And when they tell me how "cool" everything works for them, I always ask to look not at the center of the capital, but at villages and small towns. For example, yesterday at the entrance to Brovary, not a single line of communication from all three operators. Nothing. The time of absence of electricity has become so long that fixed operators that have not been modernized have begun to collapse behind mobile networks. Their networks are built according to the old schemes, where there are batteries at each node, but batteries do not last forever. They are discharged. And then everything disappears. Operators should prepare for the scenario when electricity will no longer be supplied at all. Not four hours. Not three. Not even for an hour a day. It just won't happen. And Kherson is an example of this," writes Fediyenko.
