Bekmambetov's film in the USA bypassed the rental leader "Avatar 3" due to a snowstorm

Released in the United States, the film Mercy (in the Russian box office, "You Can't Execute") by Russian director Timur Bekmambetov was replaced by the second line by James Cameron's leading film Avatar: Flame and Ashes since December 19. This is reported by the Variety portal.

Bekmambetov's film starring Chris Pratt was released on January 23 and collected $ 11.2 million over the weekend, becoming the leader.

However, the newspaper notes, due to a powerful snowstorm last weekend showed the lowest cumulative result this year. The total cinema fees amounted to $ 60 million, which is 9% lower than the fees for the same period last year.

Most major movie theaters in the country were closed, and warnings of low temperatures, strong winds and blizzards were issued in 37 states.

In the global box office, "Execution cannot be pardoned" collected $ 11.6 million, which cannot be called an outstanding result.

At the same time, Avatar 3 held a leading position at the US box office for five weeks, the film collected $ 378 million in the USA, and $ 1.38 billion at the worldwide box office. But last weekend, Cameron's film earned $ 7 million in the United States.

As EADaily reported, earlier Russian viewers complained about poor image and sound quality when watching Avatar 3 in Russian cinemas.

According to Veronika Skurikhina, editor-in-chief of the Bulletin of the Film Distributor, the company that usually supplied high-quality copies did not work with the release this time.
