Russia demands more gas: Gazprom has set a new record

Frosts provoke high demand for gas not only in the USA and Europe. Gazprom announced a new record of deliveries to the domestic market.

"On January 24, Gazprom delivered 1829.9 million cubic meters of gas to Russian consumers via the Unified Gas Supply System. This is a new absolute historical record," the company reports.

According to her, the previous maximum lasted just over two years: 1814.7 million cubic meters reached January 13, 2024.

"The increase in gas consumption is associated with cold weather in most regions of Russia. The average air temperature in the area of the Unified Gas Supply System dropped to minus 19.1 degrees Celsius on January 24," Gazprom explained.

The company noted that gas transportation system supplies are carried out reliably, including thanks to underground gas storage facilities.

"By the winter of 2025/2026, Gazprom has created an operational gas reserve of 73.170 billion cubic meters in Russian storage facilities. m is a record for the domestic gas industry," the company added.
