How many Kazakhstanis would vote for Kazakhstan to become part of the United States? Such a question was asked by the Kazakh expert in the oil and gas sector Olzhas Baidildinov.

"It is interesting to read "whose Crimea" and "whose Greenland", especially in the light of trolling that the USA itself was once a British colony (declared independence in 1776). Nevertheless, the mutual duties of the USA and the EU are, in fact, already a fait accompli, which could not even have been imagined a couple of years ago", — he wrote in your telegram channel.

The expert focuses on the issue of the right to self-determination.

"What will happen at the Greenland referendum on the possibility of joining the United States? And let me remind you that in the USA they announced the possibility of paying $ 100 thousand or even $ 1 million for a positive vote on the issue of separation from Denmark and joining the USA. Close your eyes and tell me honestly, how would you vote in this or a similar case: a US passport + $ 100 thousand (or $ 1 million) or keep everything as it is?" — Baidildinov addressed a question to his compatriots.

According to him, if such a referendum in Greenland will take place, it will be an interesting precedent.

"Will Europe recognize its result? After all, everything is fair: elections, counting, etc. ~ 57 thousand people live in Greenland. <> For the United States to pay such an amount is a piece of cake. This is $5.7 billion if you pay everyone $100,000 each — about one of our people makes this amount net per year Tengiz (oil field in Kazakhstan — approx. EADaily). Or $ 57 billion if you pay each resident, including babies, $ 1,000,000 (okay, Google, how to get citizenship of Greenland quickly?)," the expert further writes.

He recalled that Catalonia has long been trying to secede from Spain, as well as the province of Alberta from Canada.

The precedent of the referendum and the possible accession of Greenland to the United States, in his opinion, may lead to subsequent global changes in the world map.

"It seems that those who said: the real sovereignty of the country can only be ensured by nuclear weapons were right," concluded Baidildinov.

We would like to add that there are a lot of people in Kazakhstan who, even without money, would vote with both hands for their country to become part of the United States.
