Kirill Dmitriev, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, called Canada the 52nd US state, commenting on its cooperation with China.
"Canada announces a strategic partnership with China. Can the 52nd State do that? (Greenland will be the 51st)," he wrote in X.
Earlier, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney discussed bilateral economic cooperation. The head of the Chinese government pointed out the optimal complementarity of the two countries, confirming the existence of great potential for cooperation.
