Politico: Callas offered to escape drunkenness from world instability

The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, jokingly stated that the global situation is pushing to drink alcohol.

According to Politico, she expressed this opinion privately to the leaders of political groups in the European Parliament. Callas said that although she is not a drinker, it might be a good time to "start drinking," given the events around the world.

This statement was made after high-ranking members of the European Parliament began congratulating each other on the New Year. At the same time, they admitted that, judging by what is happening in the world, there is little reason for joy.

The very comment of the head of the European diplomacy was made at the moment when the foreign ministers of Greenland and Denmark met with US Vice President Jay Dee Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio about Donald Trump's threats to seize the Arctic island.

The agency emphasizes that Callas is ready to add fuel to the fire of general global tension and is going to propose new sanctions against Iran after the authorities of the Islamic Republic suppressed another rebellion.
