The World Anti-Doping Agency has billed Russia for 2026

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has estimated that Russia should pay him a contribution for 2026 in the amount of $ 1,440,483. This is evidenced by WADA documents.

France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom must pay the same amount to the World Anti-Doping Agency in 2026, TASS reports. The United States has a contribution of $3,957,756, Canada — $ 1,978,878, Japan — $1,502,800. As of January 9, contributions for 2026 have already been paid by Estonia, Lithuania, Portugal, Israel, Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia.

Recall that Russia before its withdrawal from the The Council of Europe (CoE) paid annual contributions to the World Anti-Doping Agency. The contribution for 2022 of $1,177,557 was sent to WADA at the beginning of the same year.

On March 16, 2022, the Russian Federation terminated its membership in the Council of Europe, after which the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation stated that Russia, no matter what, does not refuse to pay contributions and is ready to implement it in full if a universal funding formula is determined or, if such a formula is not formed, then in the amount of Moscow's decision.

In the summer of 2024, WADA received from the Russian Federation the first part of the contribution for 2023 ($ 53,237 out of $1,267,023). The remaining part of the amount was transferred to the World Anti-Doping Agency in December 2024, however, due to the difficulty of making payments caused by international sanctions, as of January 9, this money has not yet been credited to WADA's account. Accordingly, Russia did not pay contributions to the World Anti-Doping Agency for both 2024 and 2025.

The United States, due to disagreement with WADA's policy over the past two years, has refused to pay contributions to the agency's budget. The debt of Americans to WADA already amounts to almost $ 7.5 million.
