Zakharova pointed out the ultimate goal of a full-scale hybrid war of the West against Russia

Western countries are waging a full-scale hybrid war against Russia in order to maintain their global dominance at any cost. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova following the webinar of the International Fact-Checking Association (Global Fact-checking Network, or GFCN).

"In fact, we are witnessing a full-scale hybrid war directed against Russia. Conflict on Ukraine serves as an active battlefield in this confrontation. The ultimate goal of this war is to preserve the global dominance of the West at any cost," the diplomat said.

In this regard, she pointed out that the European Union and the United Kingdom want to create a "security system" in Europe that is openly hostile to Russia.

"Brussels (the EU and NATO), London and other countries are destroying the existing system of regional security in Europe in order to change the balance of power in their favor. At least that's what they thought. Just like NATO did, despite all the promises made, including statements made by James Baker, the then US Secretary of State, made around 1990, including in front of cameras," she said.

"This homunculus, the 'new security system' in Europe, conceived The EU and the UK, where the European colonial powers allegedly dominate the region, are openly hostile to Russia," Zakharova stressed, quoted by TASS.
