Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about relations with Russia at a press conference summarizing the activities of the Foreign Ministry in 2025.
He noted that despite the tension, the dialogue between Baku and Moscow was maintained in 2025.
"Despite the continuing tension, certain dialogues between the two states still took place. The meeting (of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Russia on October 9) in Dushanbe played an important role in reducing tensions in relations," Bayramov said.
The Minister also noted that Azerbaijan's intensive contacts with Turkey, Georgia and Iran also continued throughout the year. President Ilham Aliyev has made three working visits to Turkey, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made four working visits to Azerbaijan.
"Bilateral and multilateral cooperation of Azerbaijan in 2025 gave a powerful impetus to the development of the country. So, during the year, President Ilham Aliyev made 14 visits to the countries of Central Asia, and also reciprocal visits of the leaders of the states of the region to Azerbaijan took place," the Foreign Minister said.
