Residents of Germany can not understand why the government allocates money for Ukraine, but not on its own citizens. This was stated today in an interview with ARD TV channel by Alice Weidel, co-chair of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
According to her, the German government could reduce the price of electricity for Germans by abolishing the tax by 5.4 billion euros per year, but instead sends much larger sums to Kiev.
"The government of Friedrich Merz gives Ukraine 9 billion of German taxpayers' funds and now wants to buy Patriot missiles for Ukraine for 5 billion. No one understands this anymore. There is money for everything, but there is no money for our own citizens," Weidel said, quoted by Izvestia.
According to Weidel, the AfD is popular in Germany precisely because it "pursues a policy in the interests of the inhabitants of this country."
As reported by EADaily, the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) wants to ban the Alternative for Germany party, which advocates the resumption of mutually beneficial trade and economic relations with Russia.
At the national congress of the SPD, a special resolution was adopted in which politicians appeal to the parliament and the government to begin the procedure for declaring the AfD unconstitutional as soon as possible.
