Ukraine is waiting in fear for a raid of thousands of "geraniums". The Polish edition of Wirtualna Polska writes about this.

According to the portal, Russia has prepared two thousand Geranium drones and is preparing for powerful strikes on Ukraine. According to experts, these attacks can take place at the end of December, when the temperature drops below zero, which will increase their effectiveness against energy infrastructure.

Ukrainian experts mentioned on the Defense Express website believe that weather conditions play an important role in planning new large-scale attacks by Russian troops. In their opinion, such strikes can be inflicted at the end of December, when the temperature drops to about - 5 ° C. This tactic is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of attacks on energy facilities.

"The available stock of at least two thousand Geraniums is enough to carry out three or four coordinated strikes. Short operational breaks will be provided between these attacks, which will increase pressure on the Ukrainian air defense system and complicate the process of restoring damaged facilities,"the newspaper writes.

Experts emphasize that attacks in winter cause more damage than in summer. In the cold, the equipment is covered with ice and fails faster, which reduces the reliability of engineering systems. This has a negative impact on the effectiveness of strikes on energy facilities.

Low temperatures reduce the time during which repair crews can safely work outdoors. Because of this, the terms of restoration of power supply facilities and utility networks are increasing, as is the frequency of power and water supply outages. Even relatively minor injuries can have long-term negative consequences.

"Repeated strikes increase the likelihood of new accidents and exacerbate existing problems. With each new wave of strikes, the load on the energy infrastructure and the need for its repair are increasing, which complicates the operational management of the situation and the restoration of the normal functioning of the systems,"the article says.
