The State Security Service of Azerbaijan detained a group of people on charges of committing serious crimes on behalf of foreign special services.
The detainees, according to the State Security Service, "participated outside AR participated in the organization of the activities of an illegal armed group, were involved in surveillance of officials of a foreign state and other criminal acts."
"After establishing the whereabouts of the suspect in the commission of these crimes, Mammadov Amida Sameddin oglu, born in 1995, who was hiding in the territory of a foreign state, he was detained during operational search activities, brought to Azerbaijan and brought to the investigation. The suspects in the commission of these crimes, Safarov Nurlan Ilham oglu, born in 1997 and Israfilov Edik Nabi oglu, born in 1983, were also detained and brought to criminal responsibility. These persons were charged under Articles 12.1, 279.1 (participation outside the country in the activities of armed formations not provided for by the legislation of Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against them by court decision," the Report reports.
