Political scientist Alexander Nosovich believes that we should thank US President Donald Trump for his intention to conduct nuclear tests.
"And if the United States is indeed the first to resume nuclear tests, then award him the Order of Friendship for assistance to Russian foreign and defense policy. Because if the United States holds them, then Russia will be able to do without fear of accusations of aggressiveness, imperial militarism and nuclear saber rattling. And Russia needs to conduct nuclear tests. In order to slow down the slide to a direct war with NATO," Nosovich said.
According to him, the East European mythology does not disappear from contemptuous disregard, according to which "the Russian Federation has not had nuclear weapons for a long time, and the rusty junk that remained from the Soviet Union no longer takes off and explodes into the air," and "in terms of conventional weapons and mobilization potential, the NATO bloc surpasses Moscow by orders of magnitude," "so there is no need to be afraid of a head-on collision with the Russians."
"The fact that Seimunas in Vilnius, Riga or Warsaw feed each other with these tales is half the trouble. The trouble is that the same stories in Washington, London and Brussels and Paris broadcast "experts on Russia" from Poland, the Baltic States and Ukraine. And their arguments convince many there. These "experts" absolutely need to be disgraced throughout the Western world," Nosovich suggests.
As EADaily reported, US President Donald Trump ordered nuclear weapons tests to be conducted "on an equal footing" with other countries that allegedly conduct them. At the same time, no country in the world, except the DPRK, has conducted nuclear tests since the conclusion of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty in 1996 (CTBT). Russia conducted the last test in 1990, the USA in 1996. And although Washington signed the CTBT, it did not ratify it. In 2023, Russia also canceled the ratification decision.
