The US Treasury Department said that the introduction of new sanctions against Russia is due to the fact that Moscow has no desire to conduct a peace process in Ukraine.
"Today, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department is imposing additional sanctions due to the absence of Russia's serious commitment to the peace process to end the war in Ukraine… The United States will continue to advocate for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, and lasting peace depends entirely on Russia's willingness to negotiate in good faith," the ministry said in a statement.
