Well-known financial analyst Erania Bochkina in an interview with RIA Novosti told about a popular banking product that is already clearly a thing of the past. We are talking about free installment payment cards, there are fewer and fewer of them in the country every day.

"The consumer lending market is gradually shifting away from installment cards towards BNPL services. Installment cards remain a familiar tool, but their model is limited because it requires registration of a banking product and the availability of plastic," the specialist is sure.

In 2025, banks offer paid installments in almost 50% of cases. For comparison, in 2024, only 30% of cards were issued by consumers for money, plus interest on loans increased markedly.
