The key obstacle to a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict is the position of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in an interview with the journalist of the TV channel "Russia-1" Pavel Zarubin.
"You know, recently we have been increasingly hearing accusations against European leaders and European countries that they are allegedly incompetent. But today we are getting a lot of information that it's not even about the United States, which really wants to promote, and not about Russia, which is also ready for certain steps, and not in the European leaders. And the fact is that in many ways Vladimir Aleksandrovich Zelensky is the problem," Lukashenko said.
According to him, Zelensky is aware of the complexity of the situation, but continues to bend his line.
Lukashenko believes that Zelensky will understand this, "he already understands a lot... but you understand who he will be if he takes these steps for no reason." The Belarusian president believes that Zelensky "is inclined to have the strongest pressure on him, and then appropriate decisions will be made under this pressure."
But, Lukashenko noted, Zelensky needs to act urgently, since the Russian Armed Forces are advancing and Ukraine may disappear as a state.
"Well, look at these neighbors from the west who have already become dumbfounded. Already well-known forces and states see themselves in Western Ukraine. They are already ready to cut off part of Ukraine… There's a very serious batch. And I would like the president of Ukraine to hear me and understand that no one will bring happiness to him on the territory of Ukraine, except the Slavic states. Therefore, we need to sit down and agree," Lukashenko stressed.
As EADaily reported, since most of Ukraine is safe, it is necessary to introduce Western troops into its territory now. Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson writes about this in his column in the British newspaper Daily Mail. The "coalition of the willing" should not turn into a "coalition of the waiting," he urges.
