A similar signal was transmitted on February 11, 2022 at 6:09 Moscow time.
UVB-76 is a shortwave radio station that started operating in 1976. Among radio amateurs, it was called the "buzzer", since most of the time it broadcasts monotonous and buzzing sounds. The purpose of its signals is not known for certain.

The department stated that information about the user of the radio frequency spectrum, including the radio frequencies or channels allocated to him, the types of electronic means used, their addresses and terms of use, "is not publicly available."
