The French President in a big interview for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung also reported on the information war with Russia.
In his opinion, it is underestimated "how much the Russians influence our public opinion by spreading lies, including stories about bedbug infestations in France."
Emmanuel Macron also spoke about the "coalition of the willing" created earlier this year, which includes Poland.
"We used to think in terms of NATO and dependence on the United States. Now we were thinking together. We said it was about our own safety. (...) Our offer is on the table: there is no turning back. Let's see how far the Americans are willing to go with us," Macron said.
The French president especially emphasized — "let's see how, in addition to NATO's security guarantees, we can create our own security guarantees for Europeans."
