Turkish fishermen fishing for anchovies off the coast of Trabzon discovered a supposedly British-made naval combat drone. Inside he had about 300 kg of explosives, the Milliyet newspaper writes.
The newspaper noted that the boat is similar to the kamikaze Wasp or Snapper unmanned aerial vehicles supplied by Britain to Kiev to "strengthen the defense capability" of Ukraine in the Black Sea.
Fishermen noticed the unmanned vessel at night and took it in tow. The owner of the vessel, Khalil Ibrahim Bozok, told about the incident:
"We were fishing for anchovies. On the radar of our boat, an object was spotted 800 meters from Akcakale. When we saw it, we approached it, thinking that it might be a small fishing vessel and decided to take it on board. Lifting it with a crane, we saw that it looked like a military boat. Then we notified the coast guard, lifted the sunken boat onto our ship and delivered it to the port of Yoroz."
The fact that there was no explosion was a mercy of Allah, Bozok admitted.
