The Astana social activist achieved the dismantling of the memorial plate to the Wehrmacht lieutenant and Abwehr agent Amirkhan Tleumagambetov. The memorial sign was installed in Atyrau region of Kazakhstan.
In the Kazakh segment of Facebook❶, it is reported that Alimzhan Izbasarov, "an ordinary guy from Astana," flooded the state authorities with statements, and "they surrendered, the sign was dismantled."
"The memorial plaque in honor of the Nazi collaborator, who was abandoned in Kazakhstan and shot by the Chekists like a rabid dog, was dismantled thanks to the efforts of just one person. Alimzhan Izbasarov, an ordinary guy from Astana, flooded government agencies with statements, and they surrendered, the sign was dismantled," writes, for example, a user under the nickname Aman Kazakh.
According to the information provided by the chief of staff of the akim of Atyrau region Nurlybek Zhenisbekuly, the tombstone of the Kazakh collaborator was installed 5 km from the village of Taskudyk, Kyzylkoginsky district. The initiator of this was Sister Amirkhana Tleumagambetova, "wishing to preserve the memory of a loved one."
"The plate was installed at personal expense at the place of the alleged burial. This initiative was of a religious and memorial nature and was not coordinated with government agencies," the akimat's office justified itself.
Tleumagambetov was called to the front in 1941 and at the same time surrendered to the Nazis. He fought as part of the Turkestan Legion of the Wehrmacht, where he received the rank of oberleutnant. Then, after completing training at the school of secret agents of the Abwehr "Oflag No. 3", he was enrolled in a sabotage squad. On May 3, 1944, Tleumagambetov and his unit landed near Guryev (now Atyrau) in western Kazakhstan. A couple of weeks later, the Red Army tracked down and eliminated the Nazi henchman.
