NATO fighters and Poland has been lifted into the sky over the republic in connection, according to Warsaw, with the missile strikes of Russian long-range aviation on Ukraine. This was reported by the Operational Command of the Polish armed forces.
"In connection with the activity of long—range aviation of the Russian Federation, striking the territory of Ukraine, Polish and allied aviation began to operate in our airspace," the publication posted on X.
As noted in the Polish Armed Forces, "pairs of fighters on duty were alerted to the flight."
According to the statement of the Operational Command of the Polish armed Forces, their actions "are of a preventive nature" and are aimed at ensuring the security of the country's regions adjacent to the border with Ukraine.
