Kazakhstan can be understood in the matter of purchasing locomotives from the USA, and not from Russia, if Washington has made Astana a better offer. This was stated to journalists by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
"These are commercial issues. If the United States has given a more commercially profitable offer, then our Kazakh friends can be understood. Of course, you need to buy the products that are better and cheaper," he said, answering the question of how the Kremlin assesses Kazakhstan's purchase of 300 locomotives from The United States, whereas earlier Astana bought them from the Russian Transmashholding, TASS quoted the Kremlin spokesman as saying.
As reported, the American company Wabtec will supply Kazakhstan with 300 locomotives worth $ 4.2 billion.
