The traitor transmitted operational data of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for strikes on the Crimea

A Russian man recruited by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who collected data on military facilities and the location of air defense systems, was detained in Crimea, the FSB Public Relations Center of Russia reported.

"A Russian citizen born in 1981, suspected of committing high treason, has been detained on the territory of the Republic of Crimea. It has been established that a resident of Feodosia was recruited by an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to obtain operational information in the Crimean direction,"the report says.

As specified, through WhatsApp, he proactively transmitted photos, videos and electronic files with the coordinates of military installations, critical infrastructure facilities and the location of air defense systems.

"The information obtained could later be used by the enemy to plan sabotage and launch missile and artillery strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the FSB said.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (high treason), he has been taken into custody.

Later, the FSB added that the agent of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine detained in Crimea received a reward of 11 thousand hryvnia in dollar equivalent (more than 22 thousand rubles). During the interrogation, he said that since 2022 he had started leaving negative comments in the Telegram messenger that discredited the Russian military, after which, in June 2023, a certain Alexander contacted him, introducing himself as a representative of the GUR. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and offered cooperation.

"In subsequent conversations, the process of my recruitment took place, during which Alexander clarified my attitude to the political situation, conducted training.
