An 18-year-old citizen of Ukraine was detained in Poland, who fraudulently stole 30 thousand zlotys (about 700 thousand rubles) from an 83-year-old Pole.
According to the Tchevsky povyatovy police department, the foreigner posed as a Polish police officer and convinced the pensioner to participate in a secret operation to identify unscrupulous bank tellers. As a result, the victim lost 30,000 zlotys.
"The false policeman assured the elderly man by phone that the money would be used for a "trap" against bank employees allegedly involved in criminal activities. The 83-year-old pensioner believed this story and transferred his savings," writes the portal "Kresy".
The criminal was detained in hot pursuit. At the request of the prosecutor, the court chose a preventive measure against the detainee in the form of detention for a period of three months. According to investigators, the Criminal Code provides for a penalty of up to eight years in prison for such a crime.
