The concert of the Russian singer Polina Gagarina in Astana may be disrupted due to the opposition of political activists. On the eve of the concert ticket sales were suspended after calls for a boycott of the artist on social networks.
However, at the moment, representatives of the Congress Arena venue have denied the cancellation of the singer's performance.
"The concert will take place. Ticket sales will resume soon," representatives of the concert hall told the Paragraph portal.
The discontent of public figures was caused by Gagarina's support for a special military operation of Russia in 2022. Publications demanding to boycott the concert gained tens of thousands of approving reactions.
As EADaily reported, in 2023, with an almost similar situation, Gagarina's concert in Alma-Ata was canceled. On February 14, a concert by Polina Gagarina was to take place in Alma-Ata. However, its holding was canceled after activists expressed outrage on social networks at the arrival of a "singer who supports the war" in the country.
