Three performances in five years: the master of Russian pop music flew from the USA to Kazan

People's Artist of Russia Valery Leontiev really flew from the USA to the New Wave contest in Kazan. This is reported by the telegram channel Mash.

"The artist stayed in one of the most expensive hotels in the city near the Kremlin. Valery Yakovlevich took the presidential suite — by the way, Xi Jinping lived in the same room during the BRICS summit. He refused to comment, left for rehearsal in the afternoon," the publication says.

Also, the telegram channel published a video of the artist's sound check.

On the evening of August 25, Leontiev took the stage in Russia for only the third time in five years.

As reported by EADaily, earlier, after announcing his retirement, Leontiev spoke at a private event in Moscow in July last year, the video of the speech spread through telegram channels.

In November 2024, the artist took part in Igor Krutoy's anniversary concert in Moscow.

In the summer of this year, he performed in the town of Beaulieu-sur-Mer on the Cote d'Azur.

Boris Chigirev, the concert director of the artist, said that Leontiev would try to come to the New Wave festival.
