Slovak Transpetrol confirmed the suspension of oil supplies via the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline — through Ukraine to Slovakia and Hungary.
"Transpetrol claims that it has no additional information about the reason for the suspension," Dennik N. reports.
Former Economy Minister Karel Girman reported that it was connected with the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Druzhba station in Russia and it is not yet known when supplies will be restored. Following the attack on August 18, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced a strike on the Nikolskoye pumping station in the Tambov region.
Meanwhile, in social networks there was a skirmish between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and Ukraine. In the beginning, Peter Szijjarto expressed his indignation on the social network X that supplies had stopped due to the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the transformer substation, and reported an explanation by Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin that Russian specialists were trying to restore supplies.
In the comments to the message, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga blamed Russia for everything.
"A colleague somehow bypassed the facts," Peter Szijjarto replied on the social network. — The first fact is that Russia has been supplying crude oil to Hungary through Friendship for decades. Hungary is interested in this. The second fact is that Ukraine is attacking this pipeline, and because of the Ukrainian attacks, oil transportation is regularly stopped. I am the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, and the interests of Hungary come first for me!".
"And let's not forget: most of the electricity supplied to Ukraine, comes from Hungary...," the minister added.
