Documents with identification marks of the US Department of State dedicated to the meeting of the presidents Russian Federation and USA Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, found in a hotel in Anchorage, Alaska. This is reported by the National Public Radio of the USA (National Public Radio, NPR).
The discovery of the documents testifies to "another puncture of Trump administration officials in the issue of compliance with security standards," the publication says.
"The eight pages, which were apparently prepared by American employees and accidentally left, indicate the exact places and times of the summit meetings, as well as the phone numbers of US government employees," writes NPR.
According to him, at the Captain Cook Hotel in In Anchorage, three guests on Friday morning, at about nine o'clock local time, found eight pages in a shared printer concerning the organization of the Russian-American summit. The papers outlined the details of the preparation of negotiations between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. It is noted that the hotel is located about a 20-minute drive from the Elmendorf-Richardson military base, where the meeting itself took place two hours later.
According to the documents, the negotiations were planned to be held in a two—on-two format - Donald Trump and his special envoy Steve Witkoff on the one hand and Vladimir Putin and his assistant Yuri Ushakov on the other. As a result, as you know, we settled on the "three by three" format — the teams were joined by the heads of foreign policy departments — Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio.
In addition, the papers contained a joint lunch menu and a summit schedule.
"During the summit on Friday, lunch was apparently canceled. But it was supposed to be a simple three-course meal, as the documents showed. After a green salad, world leaders would eat filet mignon and halibut Olympia. Creme brulee was served for dessert," the newspaper writes.
As for, for example, the presidents' press conference, a whole hour was set aside for it. However, Trump and Putin eventually limited themselves to brief statements and did not even answer journalists' questions.
According to NPR, the White House and the State Department declined to comment on the incident.
