The court in Moscow will pass a verdict in the case of Chubais's estate

The Khamovnichesky court of Moscow on Thursday will announce the verdict of the defendants in the case of theft and fraud with the estate, which was built in the residential complex "Alterations" for the ex-head of Rusnano Anatoly Chubais, RIA Novosti was told in court.

The announcement of the verdict is scheduled for August 7 at 10.30 Moscow time.

The case was investigated by the glavk of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Moscow region. In the dock are businessman Ilya Suchkov, former member of the political council of the People's Freedom Party Musa Sadaev and guards Anton Polyakov and Alexei Ulyakhin. Now they are all on their own recognizance not to leave.

The case involves the Swiss company SFO Concept AG, which Chubais sold to Suchkov because of the ban on officials doing business, and its Russian branch, SFO Concept Consulting, which built a mansion for the ex-head of Rusnano. According to investigators, the building was issued to a Swiss company, and loans were issued to it, which were issued by the Cyprus company Tilsoka Limited.

The money received was transferred to the balance of the Russian company for the construction of the house.

Chubais wrote on the social network that Suchkov offered him to buy the estate for $ 50 million. He considered the cost too high and contacted the police. A criminal case was opened. Suchkov is accused of fraud and theft, because Chubais believed that expensive equipment had been stolen from the mansion.

The former official filed a lawsuit for 70 million rubles, but later reduced the requirements to 65 million. The second victim in the case is the Cyprus company Tilsoka Limited: representatives of the company filed a lawsuit in the amount of about $ 22 million, for which two loans were issued to SFO Concept AG.

The case has been heard in court since 2022. In the debate of the parties, the prosecutor requested a sentence of 4.5 to 9 years in prison for the defendants, demanding that Suchkov be appointed the longest term.
