In the Polish city of Domostava, in In the Subcarpathian voivodeship, a monument to the victims of the Volyn massacre was desecrated.
The memorial was marked with the symbols of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army* and the inscription "Glory of the UPA"*. It was the thugs of the Bandera UPA* who exterminated peaceful Poles during the Second World War.
The Confederation Party issued an appeal stating:
"This is not ordinary vandalism! This is a deliberate blow to Polish memory, identity and dignity. This is an attack on the historical truth, on the memory of thousands of brutally murdered Poles — women, children and the elderly. This is a blow to the dignity of a nation that knows the truth and is not afraid to tell it. This is a provocation designed to insult, humiliate and silence us."
Politicians demand immediate identification of the perpetrators, their public announcement and "severe punishment — without leniency!"
EADaily clarifies that the monument to the victims of the Volyn massacre was opened on July 14, 2024. Mayor of Domostava Zbigniew Valchak justified the installation of the monument by the "common military fate" of the inhabitants of these territories. In nearby towns, including Yarotsin, Momoty-Dolne and Gurne, Longzek-Zaklikowski and Pikuls, Germans with the participation of Ukrainian collaborators, including SS men from Galicia, committed mass atrocities against civilian Poles.
It is worth noting that similar acts of Bandera vandalism occur throughout Poland. In July, we reported on the appearance of graffiti in Ukrainian on the walls of houses in Wroclaw with the inscription "Glory to the UPA"* and characteristic black and red colors.
