Former Deputy Head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation (from 2003 to 2014) Ivan Malyushin, accused of abuse of power, received 5 years of probation. This decision was made by the Tverskoy Court of Moscow, RIA Novosti reports.

"Malyushin Ivan Dmitrievich was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and he was sentenced ... to imprisonment for a period of five years. In accordance with art . 73 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation consider the punishment of imprisonment imposed on Malyushin I.D. conditional with a probationary period of four years," the court said.

According to investigators, he reduced the rent for the land plot owned by the managers, which is why the budget did not receive, according to Kommersant, about 100 million rubles. Thus, Malyushin was charged with part 3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official authority, which entailed grave consequences), the sanction of which provides for up to 10 years in a penal colony.

As part of the criminal case, the Office of the President of Russia was recognized as a victim, they filed a civil lawsuit against Malyushin for compensation for damage, which "has been mostly compensated." The property of Malyushin himself, as well as a number of related persons and a developer company, was recovered by the Petrogradsky District Court in January last year for state revenue. In total, the lawsuit was filed for 1.3 billion rubles.

However, today in The Tver court clarified that the satisfaction of the civil claim to the injured party was denied.
