The deal between the US and the EU will lead to the deindustrialization of Europe, since American energy resources are much more expensive than Russian ones. This was announced today, July 28, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the XI All-Russian Youth Educational Forum "Territory of Meanings".
"It is clear that American energy resources will be significantly more expensive than Russian ones. It is clear that such an approach will lead to the further deindustrialization of Europe, to the flow of investments from Europe to The United States. And, of course, it will be a very strong blow, first of all, energy prices, investment outflow, for European industry, European agriculture," he said.
As Lavrov noted, figures like the head of the EC, Ursula von der Leyen, literally boast that they are following this path. At the same time, Trump himself is a pragmatist, he does not want any wars.
"And he, unlike his predecessor, Mr. Biden, and unlike the current European elites, all sorts of Ursula von der Leyen, Starmers, Macrons, he is open to dialogue," Lavrov said.
He added that always, including during the Cold War, the dialogue between the countries developed and allowed the opposing camps to better understand each other's intentions, and above all, to prevent a major war. Now Russia is also ready for dialogue, including with European countries.
As EADaily reported, on the eve of US President Donald Trump and the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced in Scotland a new trade deal in which the main duties for the EU will be 15%. Trump also said that the EU has agreed to buy $750 billion worth of energy resources from the United States over the next three years and invest $600 billion in the United States. Theoretically, this is possible, but in practice the EU will be able to buy oil, petroleum products, gas and coal in the United States for such an amount only if a new energy crisis begins and prices soar: oil — up to $ 120 per barrel, and gas — up to almost $ 850 per thousand cubic meters.
