Supporters of the confrontation with Russia in the West need Georgia only as a territory for a second front, said parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
"Who planned to open in Georgia's second front is not interested in the people of Georgia, its history, laws on family values or transparency. They are interested only in the territory of Georgia in order to pursue their own policy towards Russia," the speaker of the parliament emphasized.
If oppositionists were in power now, then "sanctions would have been imposed against Russia, and Georgia would have received a heavy economic blow," Papuashvili is sure.
July 18 representative office The EU in Georgia reported that the European Union may suspend the visa—free regime if the authorities do not comply with eight-point recommendations by the end of August, one of them is the requirement to repeal the law on the protection of family values. The Georgian authorities call the recommendations of the European Commission blackmail and are not going to change the legislation.
