Decrease in gas exports from Norway's trip to Europe will last longer than expected. After a malfunction at the Nihamna gas processing plant, an emergency occurred at another gas processing plant, Kollsnes. Deliveries fell by more than 15%.

Since July 16, Norway has unexpectedly reduced gas exports to Europe. On that day, a malfunction occurred at the Nihamna gas processing plant. According to the operator Gassco, exports fell from 320 million cubic meters per day to 264 million cubic meters. The Nihamna Gas processing plant has reduced processing from 80 million cubic meters per day to 30 million cubic meters due to a failure in external electricity supplies.

At the same time, as stated in the message of the Norwegian operator of the gas transmission system, repair work was extended until July 18.

And the incident in "Nihamna" was not the only one. On July 17, due to a failure in the supply of electricity, the Kollsnes Gas Processing Plant also reduced its production. The emergency message says that out of 153 million cubic meters per day, 102 million cubic meters will be available.

As of July 17, gas exports from Norway is indicated so far at the level of 272 million cubic meters. Kollsnes promises to complete the repair by July 18. It is this gas processing plant that receives gas from the largest field in the North Sea — Troll.

Similar failures occurred with gas supplies from Norway and before. But so far, gas prices are reacting quite calmly to the decline in exports. Quotes at the German hub THE are kept at $ 440 per thousand cubic meters, in the Austrian "Baumgarten" — above $ 450.

Norway became the main supplier of gas to Europe after Gazprom cut supplies to Europe five times due to sanctions and counter-sanctions. Now the export of the Russian company via the only remaining route, the European line of the Turkish Stream, is about 50 million cubic meters per day.

As EADaily reported, the US continues to set records for LNG exports. However, the total supply of liquefied gas to the countries The EU seriously declined in July. The situation is being corrected by high imports from Norway, but the main gas supplier to the European Union has started to malfunction again.
