Olympic champion of Paris, Ukrainian fencer Elena Kravatskaya is indignant about the admission of Russian women in neutral status to the 2025 Fencing World Championships in Georgia (July 22-30).

"I just have no words after today's news. I probably didn't even expect that they would be admitted. The one who is Putin's confidant… How can they be allowed at all? And the funny thing is… Well, it's just ridiculous. This is something that we have not had prize money from the FIE, the International Fencing Federation, for many years. And you know what now? And now they are. Now there are these prizes for the first, second, third place. And it's not even a spit in the face, it's, you know, take a shovel and just throw it in the face. Like, everything is OK, we'll just disguise it with money, and you keep quiet. It's disgusting. It's just disgusting," Kravatskaya mumbled in a video on social networks.

Moreover, the two-time Olympic champion from Independent Olga Harlan reacted sarcastically to this occasion by posting a screenshot, where it is reported that Russians Yana Egoryan, Alexandra Mikhailova, Olga Nikitina and Sophia the Great will perform in neutral status at the 2025 World Cup.

In the same place, Harlan posted a photo of Egoryan with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Velikaya and Nikitina with Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu in uniform with the Russian Armed Forces patch.

Harlan accompanied the screenshot and photos with a sarcastic inscription:

"Neutrality is going to the World Cup in Tbilisi. Well done, International Fencing Federation."

It is worth noting that Kravatskaya, like Harlan, will miss the World Cup, which she informed the fans about.:

"There are things in my life today that are more important than sports. My mom — she's going through a difficult period right now, and I can't be somewhere far away when she needs me. And my son. I can't leave him for three weeks — because there's just no one to leave him with."

Zhovto-blakite "thunder and lightning" was commented by the Olympic champion, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova.:

"This will only continue. They can't help but do it, unfortunately. For them, the standard norm is to respond to the admission of Russian athletes. The manual. If they don't react, they start being scolded on social networks, committees, federations. Threats to sue? There is a lot of money — let them serve. Who are you going to file lawsuits against? The international federation? In any case, they need to do it. Then the population will ask them: "Why don't you react to this?“ And they have to show a lot of activity, which they actually do."
