The Finnish Foreign Ministry issued a written warning to its ambassador in Portugal's Titte Maya-Luoto for breach of official ethics. This is reported by the Yle Novosti telegram channel.
The embassy staff filed complaints against Maya-Luoto several times, accusing her of harassment, inappropriate behavior, emotional abuse and tantrums, the newspaper writes. The first complaint dates back to October 2024, when the ambassador took up her duties, later several more new episodes appeared.
Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen asked the President of Finland to terminate the powers of Maya-Luoto in Lisbon. However, according to the publication, despite the fact that Maya-Luoto creates a "tense atmosphere", she will retain her place in the ministry, since a reprimand is not grounds for dismissal.
