40-year-old Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, who was flying at site 11A, survived the crash aboard the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in Ahmedabad. This is now being reported by all Indian media.
British citizen Vishwash Kumar Ramesh was visiting his family in India and was returning to Gatwick with his brother Ajay Kumar Ramesh. He suffered numerous injuries in the crash, but survived, and his brother, who was sitting in another place, died.
"30 seconds after takeoff, there was a loud explosion and the plane crashed. It all happened so fast," says Vishwash.
Now Vishwash says that when he came to, he still had his boarding pass in his hand.
"When I was able to get up, there were bodies lying around me. I was scared. Got up and ran. Around were the remains of the plane. Someone grabbed my hand and put me in an ambulance, which took me to the hospital," he shared the details of the rescue.
As EADaily reported, the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flight, heading to London Gatwick Airport with 242 passengers and crew members, took off at 13:39, but after a few minutes began to fall, hitting several buildings. When he crashed to the ground, there was an explosion and a fire started, because the tanks of the aircraft were full of fuel. According to Air India, of the 230 passengers, 169 were Indian citizens, 53 were British, seven were Portuguese and one was Canadian. The number of victims on the ground is about 50 people.
