Viktor Z., a 28-year-old Polish citizen accused of espionage in favor of Russian intelligence, was detained in the city of Bydgoszcz.
The National Prosecutor's Office of Poland today, June 11, reported that "Victor Z. he transmitted information to the intelligence service of the Russian Federation that could be harmful to the Republic of Poland." In particular, we are talking about "the functioning of facilities of key importance for the defense of Poland, the disclosure of which may cause damage to the state."
At the request of the prosecutor, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of arrest for a period of three months.
"Suspect Victor Z. 28 years old, higher education. According to the conclusions of the investigation, he acted out of ideological motives and pro—Russian beliefs,"the prosecutor's office said.
