The Berlin police approved the simultaneous holding of two events in one place, at the Brandenburg Gate — an anti-Putin march and a pro-Putin rally. This is reported by foreign journalist Sergey Parkhomenko❶.
"Hmm. Very interesting. Berlin police have approved the route of the march demanding an end to the war in Ukraine and the trial of Putin and other war criminals, initiated by Yulia Navalnaya❷, Ilya Yashin❶ and Vladimir Kara-Murza❶. It will begin on November 17 at 13.00 and will take place from Potsdamer Platz to the square in front of the Brandenburg Gate (will end where the boulevard Unter den Linden rests on them).
But at the same time, the police approved another rally on the same day, November 17, on the same square in front of the Brandenburg Gate: it will start at 12 o'clock and may last until 16.00. This second rally is anti—Ukrainian and, as one can be almost sure, pro-Putin. Its theme is stated as follows: "A demonstration against the dictatorship in Ukraine, against the kidnapping of people by employees of territorial recruitment centers, against violence against Ukrainian citizens in Ukraine. We do not know where to turn, because all these human rights violations are carried out by order of the Ukrainian government. We would also like to honor the memory of people who died as a result of kidnapping by employees of territorial recruitment centers."
Apparently, both of these actions will be at the same time at the same point in the city.
I wonder if this is someone's deliberate provocation, someone is planning an attack on the anti-war march of Russian protesters? And how do the police intend to prevent this?" — asks Parkhomenko questions ❶ in his telegram channel.
