US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth received regular information about the course of the sabotage operation of Ukraine on the territory of Russia — drone attacks on airfields. However, the minister did not contact representatives of Kiev on the operation. On Monday, June 2, CNN reported, citing officials in the White House.
According to sources, the Pentagon chief "was regularly informed about what was happening on Sunday while he was on his way to the Andrews military base." At the same time, according to the TV channel, Washington was not notified in advance of Kiev's intention to launch strikes on Russian territory.
Earlier, CBS News journalist Jennifer Jacobs said that the US authorities did not share intelligence data with Kiev to carry out the latest terrorist attack on Russian airfields from Ukraine. She referred to sources in the US administration. It is alleged that Ukraine collected the information on its own. Jacobs called Kiev's operation a "Web."
Representatives of the White House refused to give official comments on the attack.
