The Kremlin has no information about the disclosure of an alleged Russian intelligence network in Brazil, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov assured journalists.
"We have indeed seen these reports. We can't comment in any way. We in the administration [of the Russian President] do not have such information," the Kremlin spokesman said, answering a question about the publication in the media of information about the disclosure in Brazil of allegedly Russian intelligence officers who used the country's territory and local citizenship for further legalization in other countries, TASS quoted.
Earlier, a publication was published in the newspaper The New York Times, which claims that the Russian intelligence services, in fact, turned Brazil into a conveyor for the training of illegal agents. One, according to the publication, created a 3D printing company that received orders from the TV Globo network and the Brazilian army. Another ran a jewelry business (which turned out to be, however, a screen). The third studied at an American university and worked at the International Criminal Court in The Hague (ICC). The fourth, a researcher, found a job in Norway. Another blonde, blue-eyed model, unexpectedly left with her husband in 2023. Uruguay (their real names are Irina Antonova and Roman Koval), where another spy, Olga Tyutereva, moved. One "Brazilian" couple moved to Portugal.
The New York Times also claims that having learned how to get real birth certificates and passports in Brazil, Russian illegal intelligence agents legalized and led the life of honest workers for years in order to go on Moscow's assignment at the right time - mainly to the USA, Europe or the Middle East. But the special military operation launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Ukraine allegedly helped Brazilian law enforcement agencies figure them out.
