The telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, has ended. This is reported by the media.

The Russian president called the conversation with Trump informative, frank and very useful, RIA Novosti reports. According to Putin, he expressed gratitude to Trump for the participation of the United States in the resumption of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Russia supports the cessation of hostilities, but it is necessary to work out the most effective ways to move towards peace, Putin stressed. According to him, the Russian Federation is ready to work on a memorandum with Ukraine, including a ceasefire. Russia and Ukraine needs to find compromises that would suit all parties. Russia and Ukraine is "generally on the right track" after the resumption of direct negotiations, the Russian leader stressed.
During the dialogue, Trump expressed his position on the cessation of hostilities on Ukraine, he noted.
According to Putin, press secretary Dmitry Peskov or presidential aide Yuri Ushakov will explain the details of the conversation with Trump later.
