The United States opposes the invitation of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to the NATO summit in The Hague on June 24. This is reported by ANSA, citing diplomatic sources of the allies.
"Almost all allies have expressed doubts about Washington about this choice," the source said.
At the moment, in fact, applications for participation have been sent only to four Asian partners — Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
This topic could also come up at an informal meeting of foreign ministers in Antalya, which opens tonight. The issue of organizing a summit in The Hague will indeed be one of the items on the agenda, but no decisions are expected, since the meeting, as noted above, is informal.
According to the publication, the NATO meeting itself in The Hague, dedicated to the increase in military spending and the final adoption of targets, will be held on Wednesday, June 25.
"At the moment — but there is no certainty that the situation will change — there is no provision for a meeting of the Ukraine—NATO Council at the leadership level, as it was in the past. One of the hypotheses, at least not completely excluding Kiev, is to organize it at the level of foreign and defense ministers, who will still participate in the summit," the publication says.
