German Chancellor Friedrich Merz should pursue a more balanced policy towards Russia and refrain from rash steps that could ruin his political career.
This was stated to RIA Novosti by the State Duma deputy from the Crimean region, reserve Major General Leonid Ivlev, commenting on the interview of the head of Germany to n-TV.
In it, the German Chancellor said that all issues of military assistance to the Kiev regime, including the possible supply of Taurus cruise missiles, would be removed from discussion in public space.
"Chancellor Merz should pursue a more balanced policy towards Russia, as thoughtless steps may lead to the fact that the deputies of the Bundestag will use the right to present an ultimatum and remove him for an inadequate policy," Ivlev said.
He recalled that in Germany this political process is classified as a "constructive vote of no confidence."
Earlier, EADaily reported that the level of trust in German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the new government turned out to be lower than in the "traffic light" coalition of Olaf Scholz at the start of its work.
