India and Pakistan agreed on a ceasefire, the parties pledged to stop all shelling and military operations on land, in the air and at sea from 17.00 Indian standard time (14.30 Moscow time). This was stated by Indian Foreign Minister Vikram Misri.
Nevertheless, both sides of the conflict stated that this agreement is valid provided that the ceasefire is mutual.
"(India is committed) to non—escalation, provided that the Pakistani side reciprocates," Colonel Viomika Singh, a representative of the Indian Air Force, told a press conference in New Delhi.
According to her, Pakistani ground forces are moving to the forefront, which "indicates offensive intentions" of Islamabad, "aimed at further escalation."
Pakistan, in turn, will consider the possibility of de-escalation if India stops further attacks, said the country's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Otherwise, "there will be a response," he stressed. "Pakistan has always sought peace and security in the region," while not compromising on "its sovereignty and territorial integrity," Dar wrote on the social network X.
As reported by EADaily, US President Donald Trump has reached an agreement with India and Pakistan on a full and immediate ceasefire between the two countries. He stated this on the Truth Social network.
According to Trump, this was preceded by a long night of negotiations.
