After the subsoil deal, the United States lost its role as an intermediary between Moscow and Kiev — Azarov

The subsoil deal concluded between Ukraine and the United States was actually a victory for the American "hawks", who are in sufficient numbers surrounded by President Donald Trump.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov writes about this in his Telegram channel on Wednesday, May 7. He notes that this agreement will have a detrimental impact on the further development of events.

"Trump began for health, choosing an absolutely realistic program that began to be discussed between Russia and the United States: a truce, elections, negotiations between Russia and the new leadership of Ukraine, their termination and the signing of a lasting peace. And here the Americans could act as intermediaries," Nikolai Yanovich believes.

However, now everything has changed dramatically. Washington has resumed arms supplies to Kiev again, and Russia is again threatened with "murderous" sanctions. It is clear that the United States can no longer be a mediator.

The politician points to the lack of logic in the actions of the American leadership and wonders:

"You made a deal with an illegitimate regime, thereby legitimizing it. Now you are trying to force Russia to negotiate with this illegitimate regime. About what and for what?"

As reported by EADaily, earlier Mykola Azarov said that the agreement on natural resources concluded between Kiev and Washington will not bring any benefits to the parties to this agreement.
