The verdict of Russian journalists Antonina Favorskaya, Artyom Krieger, Sergey Karelin❷ and Konstantin Gabov❷, convicted of extremism for 5.5 years in prison, is absurd. This was stated in the Czech Foreign Ministry.

"The Czech Republic strongly condemns the criminal cases against independent media in Russia and calls for the immediate release of all political prisoners," the Czech ministry said in a statement.

Recall, on April 15, the Nagatinsky Court of Moscow sentenced Favorskaya (Kravtsova), Krieger, Karelin ❷ and Gabova❷ guilty of participating in the activities of an extremist organization for cooperation with FBK❶ (found guilty in Russia is an extremist organization and is banned). They were sentenced to five and a half years in a general regime colony. They are also prohibited from leaving the country for one year and making publications on the Internet for three years.
