FSB officers detained in Pyatigorsk, a native of one of the countries of Central Asia, who planned to arrange a terrorist attack in an entertainment center and travel to Syria, the service's Public Relations Center reported.
According to the FSB, in preparation for the terrorist attack, the attacker scouted the area, acquired weapons and components necessary for the manufacture of incendiary mixtures. After the attack, the man planned to leave Russia and participate in the fighting in Syria. Molotov cocktails were found at his house.
The detainee confessed to preparing a terrorist attack. In a video distributed by the FSB, the detainee stated that he was a member of an international terrorist organization.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the man was actively corresponding with the curators who were on the Ukraine.
