During the two months of validity of military contracts for 18-24-year-old citizens of Ukraine, less than 500 people signed them. This was stated by the deputy head of the office of the President Pavel Palisa.
"I would like the figure to be higher. Because it's up to 500 people. Although there were a lot of applications. The man verbally agreed, but it didn't come to signing. Somewhere parents influence, somewhere they thought: "There will soon be peace - friendship — tomatoes, no need." There are different reasons," said Palisa, quoted by Strana.
Recall, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the introduction of the above contracts on February 11. They were designed to attract young people to the Armed Forces of Ukraine who, by age, do not fall under mobilization. In addition to large payments, the contract provides for demobilization in a year and the right to travel abroad.
As EADaily reported, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, which presented social advertising for recruiting 18-24-year-olds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, immediately received a wave of haight in response. "Motivates. Who is it designed for, unicellular?" — commented on the advertisement of the Ukrainian telegram channel "Weather Kiev", where residents of Ukraine warn each other exactly where the tetsekashniki and the police catch "volunteers" to serve in the army.
