US President Donald Trump has extended for another year the emergency regime introduced by Joe Biden in connection with the "malicious activities" of the Russian authorities. This follows from the data of the Federal Register of the country.
This step implies the extension of the blocking of Russian assets, as well as sanctions and secondary restrictions on foreign financial institutions cooperating with the Russian military-industrial complex, RBC reports.
"Malicious activities" include "undermining the holding of free elections in the United States and its allies," cybercrime, "encouraging and using transnational corruption to influence foreign governments," harassment of dissidents and journalists, undermining security in strategic regions for Washington, as well as violating the principles of international law.
"The specific malicious activities of the government of the Russian Federation ... continue to pose an extraordinary and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy and economy of the United States. I am extending for one year the state of emergency in the country, announced in Executive decree 14024," the document says.
The emergency mode was introduced by Joe Biden on April 15, 2021, at the same time similar threats were listed.
